Be Available
Did you know that making yourself available can help you move forward towards your goals? If you can give yourself the space to be more available, you will be able to create more opportunities. We go into several examples on how this can look in your busy life. HINT: If you’re pressed for time, you may be making yourself available to the wrong things (like binge watching shows, scrolling social media, etc…). Pay attention to where your availability is going. Use discernment here.
By being more available (in a healthy, wise way), you’ll be able to see more opportunities, and be a part of something bigger than yourself. In this episode, we talk about the example of Jesus feeding 5000. The two boys chose to be available with their lunches and Jesus was able to feed a massive amount of people. Would Jesus have found a way if the boys hadn’t been available? Of course, He’s Jesus. But, now these two boys are in the Bible! Wow! Are you missing out on amazing pieces of God’s story because you’re okay with staying in your comfort zone? Don’t miss out!
Even if it’s a ten minute coffee break with someone, it could move the needle towards everyone reaching their ambitions and fulfilling God’s design. Be available to God, others, and yourself. It’s important to reflect when we do this. Exercise self awareness, situational awareness, and write down what you’re learning.
Have Community & Help Others
The devil wants you alone in the dark, so he’s going to do whatever he can to make sure you don’t have an effective community. We all know it takes a village, so make sure the people in your inner circle are high quality over high quantity. If you don’t have a community, start building one today! Seek wise counsel, get plugged in at church, find people with goals who strive to reach their God-given ambitions.
Not only can effective community help us in times of need, we can also take that gift and pay it forward to help others. When we take a genuine interest in others, we grow! Jesus was the perfect example of servant leadership. Take a minute to journal and brainstorm about who you can serve with your skill sets. We dive into what this looks like in the episode, “Actions That Push Your Forward”, so be sure to tune in!
Do Your Part
As believers, we are all called to serve in a specific way. We are all uniquely created and gifted with skill sets that will further the kingdom. It’s vital that we focus on what God has called us to do, and not get stuck in the comparison trap. Here is an amazing verse that will help make sense of the body of Christ:
For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body
1 Corinthians 12:14-20
We encourage everyone to read the book of 1st Corinthians, and there are more verses in this excerpt. We are advocates of reading the Bible in context, so please take a couple minutes today to dive more into these verses. Follow the calling which you have received. Spend some time with Jesus and journal about what the Holy Spirit is telling you.
