Show Notes: Episode 15

CLICK TO LISTEN!

You made it to the show notes of episode 15! This is our first of three interviews covering the Enneagram and the book “The Road Back to You” by Ian Morgan Cron & Suzanne Stabile. This is a group interview with guests from Brooke’s book study group. Below we talk about why we have a book study and you get to meet the group!

The Power of Having a Book Study

1.Community

We were made to have community through relationships. Our book study group has been together for three years with some of us having 20+ year relationships. It is so important to be able to bounce ideas off each other in a safe space. The power of an amazing community can not only directly impact you, but also make positive changes in your relationships, in the workplace, & transform how you view other personalities.

2. Vulnerability

There is no growth where there is no vulnerability. In order to develop your personal growth, you must push yourself to becoming vulnerable. Once you have established a safe space with your book study (church group, community group, accountability group, etc…) you must choose to dig deep and open yourself up to the possibilities that can arise once you’re honest about your life. Get out of that comfort zone!

3. Accountability

Accountability provides the discipline and action required in order to grow. Whether you are helping someone remain accountable or your book study member is checking in on you, growth is guaranteed where there is accountability. Our book study pushes each other to stick to our word, say what we feel, and work to grow to realize our full potential God has for us. Give your group permission to keep you in check.

Here are the lovely humans in the book study!

Jessica: Type 8, The Challenger
Lindsay: Type 1, The Perfectionist
