How to Seek Help

Infertility is a grieving process, and it can come in unpredictable waves. People struggling with infertility process differently and have different preferences on how they will respond in any given situation. Know all of your options. There are many ways to go about seeking help. We go over multiple ways on how this looks. Keep working hard to find the right combination for you in this season. Here are some of the starting points we discussed in this episode with Carissa:

  • Have people pray over you
  • Seek a specialist in the realm of therapy you need
  • Live fully present, full of hope
  • Find niched support groups
  • Healthy friend group

Friendly reminder that distraction doesn’t always work. It’s wise to fully face your feelings in a healthy way. Processing through and living out infertility is no breeze, so don’t go it alone. God is with you in this season and will remain with you. He can make beauty from ashes and makes all things good in the end. Surround yourself with people who love God and love you, even if you don’t feel like it.

How to Help Others

Whether you are in the season of infertility or someone you love is, being supportive is a must. This can look a variety of ways varying case by case and how willing the hurting party is to being open about their situation. Ask how you can support and be patient with hearing a response. They may not yet have the words to express how you can support them.

Here are some additional ways to get support and support others who are going through infertility.

  • Get involved in a non-profit
  • Journal and reflect

Know that your feelings are valid, and if you are struggling, do not dismiss that. Find the help you need to fully face your feelings and not dwell in deep, dark sadness. This journey becomes part of your story and changes you, so what are you going to write about it?
