10 Newly Released Bible Studies

Bible studies are a great way to dive deeper into God’s word. If you are looking for a way to spend time reading and understanding scripture, this list of my top 10 newly released Bible studies of 2024 is the place to start. There is a healthy mix of brand new studies, revamped studies, and a couple from 2023 that snuck onto the 2024 list.

To all my women’s ministry leaders, these are ten, of many, great Bible studies that have recently been available to the public. Using these resources as a way to provide Biblical community will naturally bring women together in a way that grows their relationships with the Lord. As you’re looking through these 10 newly released Bible studies, think about which may work best for your church during this season.

Here’s some backstory: My church has always been so great at using Bible studies like these to foster a safe environment for women to come together, study in both large and small group sessions, and provide a way to Christian women to connect with each other. A few years back, I was swamped with career, 3 kids ages 3 and under, and basically…I felt like I was drowning. Something was missing.

With the schedule I had at the time, the only way I could attend these Bible study sessions was in the summer (shout out to the church for providing childcare). Every summer I looked forward to having Biblical community and being able to deep dive into scripture through the tool of a Bible study setting.

After years of trial and error, experiments and testing out logistics, I’m able to attend Bible study more, and I’m a better human for it. If there is any chance you’re able to attend a church Bible study, do yourself (and everyone you love) a favor, and go. Find a way to make a way. Prioritize Biblical community. Trust me, you won’t regret it. This is one of five episodes in our Toolbox mini series that’s all about tips for spiritual growth. Let’s do this!

Without further ado, here are my top 10 newly released Bible studies!

Priscilla Shirer, Jonah

Jonah-Navigating a Life Interrupted is about something we can all relate to…interruptions. Released in February 2024, Priscilla dives into how interruptions reveal a lot about who we are as people. Have you ever been in a situation where God has pointed you in one direction, and you either dug your heels in with a firm, “No way!” or even went in the opposite direction? You’re not alone. If we look at our past history, we can see where we’ve disregarded directions from God. This is a great time to ask yourself, “Why am I not stepping into what God is telling me to do?”

Interruptions. They’re aggravating. Sometimes infuriating. But how we handle interruptions actually tells us more about ourselves. What do we do when God interrupts our lives? Many times, like Jonah, we run!

In this 7-session Bible study, Priscilla Shirer redefines interruption and shows that interruption is actually God’s invitation to do something beyond our wildest dreams. When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the result was revival in an entire city.

Jennifer Rothschild, Hosea

Hosea is about love, hope, and holds a mirror up to our lives. Revamped and rereleased in April 2024, this Bible study jumps into God’s great love story to us. Have you ever been in a relationship, and have been let down? Maybe it was a lie, betrayal, or a separation of sorts. How did you feel when this happened? In this study, you’ll have the chance to see how God’s unfailing love keeps showing up for us, even when we turn our backs on God. The way God unconditionally loves us is equal parts humbling and encouraging, and this study digs into this concept.

Hosea, an old-testament prophet, preached his own life message using his marriage as the sermon illustration. The study of Hosea looks deeply at that message. It provides background to better understand the intricacies of the man and his message. You’ll be guided to understand, but more especially to apply the message of the prophet of love.

The book will challenge us with judgment so harsh it will singe our hair—an unheeded sermon warning of devastating doom shortly to come. But it will show us the kind of love we dream about. Be amazed by the love of Hosea for his wayward spouse—and more amazed by the unfailing love of God for His wayward people, and for all people. Hosea showers us with hope—hints and portents pointing to the coming of the promised Messiah.

Melissa Spoelstra, John

The Gospel of John is about looking at the life of Jesus through the lens of John. Released in March 2024, this study walks you through how we can learn to live a life of peace regardless of the world around us. Are you experiencing a season of life where you’re just busy? Maybe it’s life in the car where you’re in a constant state of taking kids to school and practice. You could be in a stage of life where that promotion is a dangling carrot. If you could just hustle harder, you’d get it and experience some peace. This study flips all of that upside down. Take a closer look at how Jesus walked and how we can experience His peace.

Life. It seems to move at a break-neck pace. Days are filled with noise, screens, and appointments. Sometimes worry and fear are constant companions. The chaos can leave you looking for a place to be still, but that resting spot always seems to be an elusive destination. Jesus offers a different kind of life. He offers peace. He is peace.

In this 7-session study on the Gospel of John, Melissa Spoelstra will encourage you to slow down and linger with the living Word. You’ll appreciate the pace of the Savior who never hurried but completed all that the Father called Him to accomplish. As you turn the pages of John’s Gospel, you’ll be challenged to take on the posture of a learner—understanding that the peace Jesus offers is not an ease of circumstances, but a stillness of the soul. As a result, you’ll grow in intimacy with Him and learn to live, serve, and rest in His peace.

Beth Moore, Breaking Free

Breaking Free is about how we can be transformed by living for Christ. Revamped and rereleased in 2024, this study is filled with examples of how we can escape the shackles of the past. Do you feel like something has a grip on you from your past? Is there something you need to let go of in order to fully experience the life you’ve been called to? We have all felt this to some degree, and this Bible study is here to help you realize this.

Join Beth Moore on a Bible journey unlike any other. God intends for you to know and believe Him, glorify Him, experience His peace, and enjoy His presence. Breaking Free is Beth’s life message that she wants to share with you. Taped live at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans in 2009, this study includes testimonies of how women like you have found freedom and have been delivered from personal captivity. And for the first time, this Bible study book is available with video access!

This in-depth women’s Bible study draws parallels between the captive Israelites of the Old Testament and New Testament believers in Jesus as the Promised Messiah. Beth Moore looks at the book of Isaiah through the lives of the kings who ruled during the prophet’s ministry. These kings exemplify many of the obstacles to freedom with which we must deal. Using Scripture to help identify spiritual strongholds in your life, no matter how big or small, Beth explains that anything that hinders us from the benefits of knowing God is bondage. You’ll be inspired to discover the transforming power of freedom in Christ.

If you’ve been wanting to learn how to look closely at scripture and discover what the text means both then and now, this study is for you!

How can we hold onto assurance of our faith? Can we discern the truth from a lie? How can we know God loves us?

In three short letters, the apostle John reminds an early church facing division, deception, and doubt to hold fast to what they know and to live like they believe it. And he reminds us, as well. In this 10-session Bible study on the letters of 1, 2, and 3, John, Jen Wilkin helps you see how two thousand years later, his words call to Christians in similar challenges to recall a great salvation and to abide in the truth.

Multiple Authors, Ephesians

Ephesians is about putting your faith into practice. Learn how to life a lifestyle of trusting the Lord and who He says you are. Releasing in June 2024, Jackie Hill Perry, Jasmine Holmes, and Melissa Kruger come together to share their wisdom on Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. These women bring a power-packed study that is worth digging into with some friends. If you’re having an identity crisis and wondering if you’re worthy of God’s calling on your life, take heart. This study is for you!

Who am I? The question of identity is always in the back of our minds, and it’s currently at the forefront of social conversations. But the first question we need to ask is: Who is God? Then we can begin to consider, And who am I in light of who He is? In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul describes God as a merciful and forgiving Father who unites us in Christ and empowers us to live by the Spirit. We’re adopted children and fellow citizens with the saints because of God’s loving pursuit on our behalf.

In this 7-session study, Bible teachers, authors, and friends Jackie Hill Perry, Jasmine Holmes, and Melissa Kruger walk through the book of Ephesians, examining the invaluable truths Paul’s letter holds for us today. Along the way, they’ll help us understand the riches of our inheritance as daughters of our heavenly Father, as well as what it means to walk in a manner worthy of our calling.

Jen Wilkin, Revelation

Revelation tackles arguably the strangest book of the Bible. Releasing in July 2024, the author tackles this book that Christians can so easily disregard because of its content. Hello, very odd creatures and happenings. Jen, once again, brings her phenomenal teaching style, engaging videos, and wonderful personality to this study. If you’ve been wanting to learn about Revelation and its significance, this study is for you!

Perhaps no other book of the Bible feels as inaccessible and as intimidating to us as the very last one. The book of Revelation overflows with images and ideas that confound our modern ears. But if all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable, we should assume Revelation is as accessible and helpful as any other book of the Bible. Why don’t we see it that way?

Two thousand years ago, John’s Revelation was circulated and read aloud among seven churches in Asia Minor. Those who heard the letter understood it and drew encouragement from its message. The same can be true for you today. Over 10 sessions of verse-by-verse Bible study, Jen Wilkin helps you discover how the last book of the Bible—the culmination of God’s great story—speaks both a steadying word of assurance and a strong call to endure to the church in every age.

Jennifer Rothschild, Take Courage

Take Courage is about feeling encouraged when life isn’t all rainbows and butterflies. Released in April 2024, Jennifer helps us study the story of Haggai. His prophesying helped the Jewish people take heart in the God who is always near and ever-present. If you’re in a season where you could use some encouragement, or have lost hope, let this Bible study draw you near to God.

Do you ever feel like the happy ending of your story is a million miles away? Then you know how the Jewish people felt when they returned to their wrecked land after exile and began rebuilding the temple. They were distracted, discouraged, and ready to throw in the towel. But the prophet Haggai reminded them they could find courage in the God who had never left them.

Sometimes the landscapes of our lives feel wrecked, with our hope and purpose in shambles. We too get distracted and discouraged. However, God’s presence and promises give us courage to press on and trust Him with our story.

In this 7-session study on the Book of Haggai, learn to walk confidently in your calling, stay motivated despite opposition, and courageously invest your life in God’s purposes, trusting Him for results you may never see in this lifetime.
