About the Book

Has a child ever asked you how to pray or what to pray about? Pray! What Do I Say? helps answer those questions. If you are talking to God, you are praying, and praying is one of the most important things we can do. The Bible tells us God hears our prayers and responds to our needs. There are many parts to prayer, but most importantly, we want our children to understand that their prayers are unique to them. Prayer is simply a conversation with our Heavenly Father.

About the Author

After a 31-year career in education, retirement now offers Betsy and her husband time for travel and hobbies. However, their favorite activities revolve around life with their grandchildren. Betsy encourages others to dream big, embrace creativity, and pursue life-long learning. Most days, you will find Betsy at home, sipping an iced coffee on the porch while planning her next project, reading something inspiring, or enjoying a beautiful sunset.

Book Details

If you’ve already gotten to experience Saved! Now What? by Betsy, then you’ll love what’s next in line! Pray! What Do I Say? is geared towards young, new Christians (typically 6-12 year olds). Prayer is such a big part of life after salvation, and this 21 day devotional guides the reader through the basics of prayer. Bonus: it not only benefits the reader, but also benefits the adult or friend that is alongside this young person.

Pray! What Do I Say? is made up of two parts. The first half of the devotionals discuss the meaning of The Lord’s Prayer, and the second half helps the reader with the application of what was just learned. Just think…the young, new Christian in your life can have the chance to learn the meaning of the Lord’s Prayer and be able to apply it daily. This is a life changer!

When we come alongside the new Christians in our lives with this devotional, it gives us the chance to grow in prayer together, creates meaningful conversations, and, the activities in the book remain as a keepsake for the child as they grow in their faith. Each day, the reader will walk through these steps:

  • Short devotional
  • Scripture reference
  • Talk application
  • Writing application
  • Action application

After working through this devotional, kids will develop confidence in talking with God, learn to pray boldly, and learn to listen to what God has to say. Prayer is powerful, purposeful, and personal. Betsy encourages us to model praying with our children and asking God for guidance along the way.

A Word from the Author

As we close our interview with Betsy, she gives our listeners a final word of encouragement. Prayer is one of the most important things we can do. We can talk to God anywhere, any time, any place about anything. The more you spend time talking with God and reading His word, the more you will recognize His voice. All you have to do is start! Remember the bigger mission; you are investing in the eternity of your children. Pray! What Do I Say? is a great resource that is good for the soul.
