Author Mini Series 2023

We are so excited to release another author mini series! Episodes 229-235 feature seven Christian women authors who give us all the details on their latest and greatest tools. We know that you’re always looking for a way to grow your faith through Biblically backed resources. If you’re looking for a great gift for a friend (or yourself), resource for your children, or your next women’s Bible study, there’s something for you here!

Episode 229: Tarryn Sarcone

Tarryn has been helping unfulfilled women for the last seven years to create the life they’ve always imagined, to find their purpose and experience their freedom and fulfillment. After spending most of her adult life chasing money and trying to find worldly success and fulfillment, she realized that it was impossible to achieve long term without first linking with the creator; God.

The devil knows your worth, identity and purpose and that’s why he’s afraid of you finding it out. He’s been after you for generations; plotting, planning and scheming against you.The devil has held you in the Valley without authority for far too long. It’s time you discover the truth about yourself and your God-given purpose in order to walk out of the valley once and for all to experience the abundance, joy and fulfillment He has promised you.

Episode 230: Ashley Jackson

What else can you do when your faith doesn’t seem to be “working” anymore? Ashley is no stranger to this kind of spiritual exhaustion. Much like the biblical character Jacob wrestled God, Ashley wrestled with God when she had done everything she knew to do to trust Him, despite the pain. And she found that sometimes God requires us to hold onto Him so we can let go of everything holding us back.

You’ve tried it all―saying the right words and prayers, reading the right Bible verses―but nothing seems to work. Rich with biblical encouragement, personal story, and practical application, Tired of Trying is an invitation to wrestle―and face God in your greatest fears, pains, and unanswered questions.

Episode 231: Anastasia Corbin

Anastasia knows what it’s like to feel left out and not have a place to belong. One of eight children, Anastasia often got lost in the shuffle. She lived in ten different houses as a child and was the ‘new’ girl countless times. As a freshman in college, Anastasia found a place to belong in Jesus. After college, Anastasia taught for six years with over four hundred students. She heard many stories from her students who were part of a family but didn’t feel like they belonged. These stories and Anastasia’s own stories of feeling left out led her to be passionate about helping children feel like they belong.

Every child wants to be seen, known, and accepted for who they are. As parents, it’s our job to help our kids know they are valued and loved. Becoming an Intentional Family is a practical resource for creating a home where children feel that sense of security and belonging.

Episode 232: Melissa Spoelstra

First and foremost, Melissa is a Christ-follower. She’s madly in love with Jesus and addicted to the study of His Word. Her blog contains her musings about what God is teaching her on any given day. Melissa is passionate about knowing Christ and inspiring other women to seek Him by opening our ears to listen to His Spirit, reading His Word curiously, asking questions, exercising good hermeneutics, and clinging tightly to God through the storms of life.

The Gospel of John releases March 2024! We know you’re excited about it, so in the meantime, here are some amazing Bible Studies of Melissa’s to check out to tie you over.

Episode 233: Kat Armstrong

Kat is on a mission to encourage curious Christians to explore Bible stories. Her resources help you read the Bible imaginatively––so that reading the Bible never feels boring ever again. Without the support of a great many people, the Storyline Bible Studies would just be a dream. You can check out Kat’s Storyline Bible studies HERE.

In Sinners, we will discover God’s tender compassion on anyone––regardless of their social status, troubled past, or the labels placed upon them. And we are going to notice the counterintuitive ways “sinful” people respond to Jesus in righteous acts of faith. You’ll start to see a theme unfold: The people considered sinful often act with greater faith than the most religious people of Jesus’ day. In the Sinners Bible study, we will explore

Episode 234: Michelle Nietert

Licensed Professional Counselor of 25 years, Michelle Nietert is the best selling coauthor of the Managing Your Emojis, God I Feel Sad and releasing Fall 2023- God, I Feel Scared: Bringing Big Emotions to a Bigger God series, Loved and Cherished, and the award-winning book for adults Make Up Your Mind.

Learning to manage our emotions is a critical life skill, yet we’ve often missed equipping kids with these valuable skills before situations intensify into mental health issues. Managing Your Emojis will help kids discover that emotional control and happiness come from God’s love for them. Through short, accessible devotions kids will be encouraged to observe, name, and release their emotions while turning to God for the strength, love, and care they need as they begin the fast-moving process of growing up.

Episode 235: Betsy Adams

After a 31-year career in education, retirement now offers Betsy and her husband time for travel and hobbies. However, their favorite activities revolve around life with their grandchildren. Betsy encourages others to dream big, embrace creativity, and pursue life-long learning. She was recently featured on the Witty&Gritty Podcast sharing practical thoughts on raising children.

Pray! What Do I Say? looks at prayer in more depth while using kid-friendly language to explain the purpose and potential of prayer. These devotionals are designed for children, offering age-appropriate content and relevant reflection activities.
