How to Get Started

Sometimes we’re multi-passionate while other seasons of life have us feeling a little lost. Deep down inside, we all have dreams. We just need some guidance from time to time. Below are a few ways to get you pointed in the right direction on what dreams to follow:

Over time, you’ll start to notice reoccurring themes, and that can help you narrow it down. You’ll find yourself thinking about the same things, praying about the same things, and dreaming about the same things. Take note of this and start taking your next steps.

PRO TIP! Help keep your eyes on the prize by using the following tactics:

  • journaling your goals and progress
  • create a vision board
  • include it in your daily habits
  • keep goals in the forefront of your mind
  • consistency and repetition help too!

Goal Setting 101

What are some of your top “one year goals”? Things that you want to have accomplished or made significant gains within this next year? Let’s start there!

After envisioning your goal, you must determine your “why”. Why are you wanting to pursue this specific dream? What is the “why” that is going to keep you driven on the tough days? Before you go any further, know your “why”.

Next, think about who is successful who has done something similar to this, or something that you can learn from the process. We go into great examples in the episode, so be sure to check out episode 44 at the top of this page.

The Ground Rules of Goal Setting:

  • keep your goals specific
  • make your goals measurable
  • have an actionable plan
  • determine your next three steps to achieving that specific goal
  • give yourself grace and space (grace when you fail and space to stretch yourself)
