Yes, us 30 something-year-old women had a best friend photoshoot in, you guessed it, the Mecca for moms…Target. It was as awesome as it sounds. You may be asking yourself some questions like:
Why are these grown women acting like the Pringles lady? If you don’t know that story…here’s a glimpse. Go Texas!
Is this even a thing? Our response: No, but it should be! Best friends making memories while onlookers give us all the faces ranging from “What in the world??” to the other moms’ slow nod of “I see you. You go, girls.” They just want to jump in with us (next time, please hop in!).
We have concluded that you need a best friend photoshoot in your life. Here’s why:
1.Document the good times
Y’all, we don’t know how many days we have left on this Earth. We have to make the most of our time. Research has shown that having experiences is more important than buying something for your people. So put down the friendship bracelet, Joey Tribbiani, and go do something fun with your crew!
*Disclaimer: we like gifts (not “bracelet buddies” gifts like Joey), but man, this photoshoot was fun. Maybe give it a try.*
2. Stress relief activity
I can’t tell you how much we laughed while doing this. Other people laughed too (with us or at us, who cares). The point is, we laughed, and laughing burns calories, and that’s basically exercise. As Elle Woods says, “Exercise gives you endorphins; endorphins make you happy, and happy people don’t just shoot their husbands!” See? Best friend photoshoots save lives.
3. Because it’s awesome
Wherever you choose to have a best friend photoshoot (although we do recommend Target), the important thing is getting some quality time in with the people you care about. Whether it’s best friends, spouses, fur babies, or workout buddies, making fun memories matters.
