Surrender Credit

When wanting to create a culture of humility, surrendering credit is a great first step. We know that we do not walk through this life alone; therefore, we cannot take credit for the blessing God bestows upon us through what we do. Yes, we work hard and do our best to be God honoring, but at the end of the day, being thankful for God coming through for you in may ways is the best place to start.

In this part of the episode, we talk about the difference between being humble verses a lack of self confidence, along with how arrogance can sneak in. We talk about what goes on between your ears is a light shining on where you’re placing credit. Start with God, them move to others.

“There is no limit to what a man can do as long as he doesn’t mind who get the credit.”

Ronald Reagan

We Culture

Once we can get in to the habit of gratitude towards God for the things we get to accomplish in life, let’s then focus on the team effort. As a leader, we need to surrender the credit in order to help create a culture of humility. This is when you an highlight what others are doing, play to their strengths, and speak life into them. We talk about how to teach leaders this concept (teach your kids this, teach your leaders this, etc…), so be sure to scroll back up and press play.

Start with gratitude whenever you speak, then get specific. Use names, specific actions, and how that has helped the team. Doing this is a great way to build rapport along with the confidence in your people. We bring up the concept of deposits and withdrawals, and how that simple tactic create an environment others want to be surrounded by. The current ratio of deposits: withdrawals is 6:1, so make sure you’re pouring into others on a consistent, honest basis.
