We chose this book (affiliate link) because it shows that science is finally catching up with Biblical truths. Yay! God designed our brains so carefully that we have so much more to learn about how our minds work. Dr. Caroline Leaf has done a phenomenal job connecting how it all ties together.

“Our life is what our thoughts make it.”

Control What You Can Control

In this book, we face head on all of the things we can control with our minds. In this mini series, we’ll tell you what you can do in order to change your mind and ultimately change your life.

You can control your mindset and attitude at all times. Best practice is using your mindset and attitude to take positive actions with your life and whatever gets thrown your way while you’re here on Earth.

In the first part of the mini series, we’ll discuss the information needed in order to “switch on your brain”, while the second part of the mini series dives into the application of that knowledge.

Positivity Takes Practice

Anytime we learn something new, it takes time. Think about the first time you rode a bike. You needed practice, and lots of it. Same rules apply here. Be sure to speak life into yourself and encourage yourself along the way.

Start with looking at your thoughts and see if they align with the Bible. Take every thought captive and make sure it fits your biblical and moral code. Keep what aligns and leave the rest. Guard your thoughts and keep filtering them. Living a positive lifestyle is possible and maintainable.

Choose Growth Mindset

Reflect back on our Grit mini series. You can refresh yourself on what is fixed mindset vs growth mindset in great depth. For now, just think to yourself: fixed mindset has limitations and limiting beliefs, where grow mindset is a pressing on and moving forward mentality.

The best way to grow yourself is starting with training yourself to have a growth mindset. This takes practice, but once your mindset shift happens and sets in, it is so freeing and you’ll feel more motivated to attack your goals. Switch on your brain episode 55 is a great starting place!
