#1: Preach the Truth to Yourself

The first way of the 4 ways to to put the Busy Christian Mom Credo to good use is to preach the truth to yourself. If you’ve been around the podcast and @BusyChristianMom Instagram/Facebook, you know that I talk about the importance of reading your Bible on a regular basis.

When we can memorize the BCM Credo, you’ll have 13 truths about yourself and who you are in Christ. Each identifier is rooted in scripture, and is true. If we find ourselves in a funk or acting anything other than these BCM identifiers, we need to pause and remember the truths about ourselves.

#2: Ask God to Send You Reminders and Confidence

The second way of the 4 ways to to put the Busy Christian Mom Credo to good use is to ask God to send you reminders and to give you confidence. There’s a difference between knowing the truth, and living out the truth. Until we can walk confidently in whose we are, we need to ask God for some help.

So when you’re feeling unworthy, like an outcast, if the weight of sin is haunting you, unloved, anxious, invisible, not good enough, not qualified enough, ask God to remind you of the truth. Remember who God is and what He says He’ll do. Remember that you are His daughter and He loves you no matter what.

As a matter of fact, let’s pray right now. I’m going to pray over us (yes, I need these reminders too), and you can pause as I go if you want to repeat after me, or you can just let me intercede for you. Lots of right ways to do this:

God, thank you for the person who is listening to this right now. You see her exactly where she is, how she’s feeling, and what she needs in this moment. Reminder her that she is your child, and you’re not ever letting go of her. You don’t miss a thing, and you see everything she is going through, and you love her even in the middle of her busy life. You meet her right where she is, and you have the power to strengthen and embolden her.

We ask that you please giver her confidence as she goes through this week. Help her see you today. I boldly ask that you give her a nudge, a sign, something to let her know that you are with her. Speak to her as she raises those babies of hers. Let her actions point back to you. Thank you for your grace and mercy. Thank you for saving us. Thank you for this opportunity to pray for each other. We love you so much.

#3: Speak Life Into Others

Wow, how cool is it that we can pray for each other through a podcast. Only God could’ve put this all together and connect me and you here at this time. He’s so awesome. Onto #3! The third way of the 4 ways to to put the Busy Christian Mom Credo to good use is to speak life into others.

As followers of Christ, part of what we can do is to encourage other believers. We know from last week’s episode, that, as Christians, we’re going to face trials, but we know that it serves a purpose. Let’s be intentional about cheering each other on, rooting for one another, supporting and upholding each other as we walk through life.

The Five Love Languages

There are a million right ways this can look. It can be anything from a sweet compliment to an act of kindness. Think 5 Love Languages here. If you need a refresher on those, here they are. I’ll also link the book in the show notes. It’s a good one!

  • Physical Touch: high fives, hugs, smiles
  • Words of Affirmation: compliments, verbal encouragement
  • Acts of Service: offloading a task, running an errand
  • Quality Time: lunch date, going on a walk together
  • Receiving Gifts: coffee drop off, “thought of you” gifts

This is when you can get creative. Pro Tip: a healthy mix of all of these are great! If someone hasn’t specified their love language, or you can’t figure out which is theirs, do combine a couple.

  • Quality Time + Physical Touch: Go on a walk and high five at the end
  • Words of Affirmation + Gifts + Acts: Pick up dinner on your tab, drop it off, and tell them they’re pretty

Have fun with this! I highly recommend the book. It’s helpful for those hard to read people, or if you are in a leadership role, or if you have kids, or if you interact with people in any way. Highly, highly recommend it.

Remember, this is about the Busy Christian Mom Credo, so when you’re speaking life into your people, root those love languages in the truth of who they are in Christ.

These episodes are the breath of fresh air! They’re short, sweet, and spicy. Think of it as pep talks with a purpose that pack a punch.
