Your Wild Calling
The first step in following the calling God has placed on you is to first discover what it is you’re being called to do. The good news is that this can change with life phases, transitions, and God’s perfect plan for you.
The second step is to believe that God has called you to it. Through prayer, wise counsel, and following God, you’ll be able to discern what path to go on. You may be called to something now to develop a skill set for the wild calling in later years.
The third step is to carry out this calling as long as God has called you to it. Choose joy, choose to follow the call, and choose to honor Christ through it. Embrace the wild calling that God has placed in your spirit.
Giftings & Identity
We are all uniquely gifted with certain skill sets and passions. It’s important to stay attuned to those and use them to glorify God and further the kingdom. Yes, God has given you these gifts, but you are not defined by those skills. Your identity is found in Christ.
We go into this in the podcast episode and discuss the difference between what you’re meant to carry and what you’re meant to give to God. Remember that every day is new, you have been fully restored, and we can live life accordingly. We can put down the baggage God is wanting to carry for us. Amen to that!
Powerful Help
We preach this all the time: the power of journaling is a game changer. In episode 80, we talk about how this has specifically helped this author be able to articulate her message and spread the good news of the gospel.
Another point we often drive home is the power of wise counsel through community. Having the right people in your circle can help you discern what God is calling you to do. They have the power to speak life into you and point you to your God given giftings, skills, and talents.
Now is also a good time to remember that all good progress is slow and doesn’t just happen overnight. Do your best to stay aligned with Christ and move in an upward trajectory. Savannah’s book “The Wild Calling: An Invitation to Believe What You Carry” will help you walk through this process. Use it as a support that points back to Christ and all He has called us to do.
