Betsy Adams lives in North Texas surrounded by family, including 7 lively grandchildren. The spark that ignited this book came from her grandkids crossing the line of faith, but not having a kid-friendly resource to walk them through the sanctification process.

Betsy’s 31 year educator background specializing in reading and early literacy provides a well planned roadmap for children to grow their faith in Christ. It’s easy enough for a young person to work through, and flexible enough to reach multiple ages. You can even take the concepts of one devotional and stretch it out for the week. Learning Through Story

Kids benefit greatly from hearing stories, so it’s important that stories teach. If we can use the stories and concepts from the Bible to teach children about sanctification, the information will be better retained. Research shows that when we can tie valuable lessons to stories, we can better understand and apply the principles more often.

“Saved! Now What?” is written for elementary aged children, but the principles and activities can be used across age groups. It’s simple, Biblical, and to the point. Younger kids can do this with parents, while older kids can read on their own. In episode 79, we go into detail on ways to use this in your household during different life stages.

Application Through Story

Books are one of the best ways to teach through stories, and Betsy’s book does exactly that. Each day brings a new lesson and application points that new, young Christians can easily implement in day to day life.

Once a child a profession of faith, they begin to ask these thought provoking questions. How am I different? What should my life look like now? How do I act? We need to remember that getting saved is the starting line, and sanctification is the race we run until our time on Earth is over.

“Saved! Now What? A 20 Day Devotional for Kids” has built in, daily application points that bring in spiritual disciplines like Bible study, prayer, thought life, etc… The format of the devotional helps the parents guide their children, plus it’s a helpful refresher for all ages refresher. Dinner conversations can easily revolve around these concepts too!

Benefits Kids & Parents

The set up of the book is separated into manageable chunks, streamlined, practical, actionable, short, simple, and rich in content. What’s not to love about this list of qualities of this children’s devotional book? Life is busy, habits need to be formed now, and this book is designed to move with you through seasons of life.

“Saved! Now What? A 20 Day Devotional for Kids” has the right questions to ask, it’s straight from the Bible, and all the leg work has been done for you, the parent.
