The Negatives to Being Impatient

As humans, we all like instant gratification. It’s how our brains are wired. We like to know as soon as possible if our actions are working or not, or if we should do something different or not. As we know, there are downfalls to living a life of impatience and expecting immediate results:

  • Lack patience
  • Overestimate abilities
  • Cut corners
  • Unrealistic expectations
  • Negative dialogue
  • Unprepared for the future

One of the facts that can be surprising is when we overestimate what we can do and then we find ourselves frustrated that we couldn’t get it all done. How to Practice Patience

Don’t expect immediate results. So, now what? We know that we can’t always get our expectations met quickly. Here are a few good tips we go over in the show and how you can easily weave this into what you’re already doing in your day to day life:

  • Celebrate the little wins
  • Create a plan to resist temptation
  • Deal with emotions in a healthy manner
  • Pace yourself properly
  • Practice self control and self discipline

All of these small tips with take you miles down the road. This will help set you up for success as well as boost your self esteem. If you’re feeling frustrated with feeling impatient, bring in your wise counsel. They can help walk you through, troubleshoot, and encourage you along the way.
